Meet Ulysses
Meet Ulysses! Or Uly for short.
Uly is such a friendly and all around nice cat! His foster family thinks the resident cats should be taking notes. Uly was a stray who was hanging around his current foster family’s house, and since he was so friendly he was eventually brought inside.
Uly loves cuddling and being around people. He’s super well-mannered; he enjoyed getting a bath and is cooperative getting into his carrier to go to the vet. He’s getting better at playing with cat toys; at first, he did not seem very interested. He had no concerns using the litter box when he was brought inside and is good at keeping his space clean. He’s food motivated, but respectful when he is around human food. It still would be wise to not leave food out with him around.
Ulysses has FIV, which is an immune disorder caused by a virus passed through deep bite wounds. Cats with FIV typically live a normal lifespan but it is recommended to have annual vet visits, be up to date on vaccines, and not be allowed to roam outside. While it is important that an adopter understand that there is a very minimal risk (especially during introduction periods where risk fighting could be heightened), many FIV+ cats cohabitate with other cats without issue or concern. It is unknown how he would be with dogs or children, but given how well tempered he is, he should be able to fit in anywhere
