Meet Elektra
Elektra came to SCAT in October 2025 with her two clever kittens (Einstein and Edison). After her babies moved on to their forever homes, she put all her energy into learning how to be a housecat. Elektra was initially very shy and scared but after closely observing her foster human’s behavior for several weeks, she correctly concluded that her current circumstances are pretty good.
As of December, Elektra's personality is shining bright! She likes the opportunity to make informed decisions, but once this girl is in, she is ALL in. She doesn't just tolerate pets, she leans in with her whole body, closes her eyes, and makes happy little grunting sounds. She crunches kibble with glee and will do almost anything for a Churu treat. She is an expert at puzzle feeders, gallops around like a lunatic after her favourite toys, and naps hard in her cozy bed to recharge. She's not a lap cat yet, but we think she might want to be. Honestly though, the way she sidles up right next to her person with slow blinks, purrs and constant biscuits couldn't be any sweeter.
If you are looking for a fun sidekick to light up your life, Elektra could be your girl. She is young and playful but is past the crazy kitten stage. She is developing an adorable repertoire of creaky chirps and squeaky meows, but is not loud or needy. She has also reacted well to the resident cats, even though they aren't yet her biggest fan.
Elektra is still suspicious of strangers and will need time, space and patience to help her adjust to her forever home. She is, however, absolutely worth the effort. Under her skeptical exterior, she is a funny, enthusiastic, and affectionate little character who sparks so much joy and is ready to take on the world with her human (or humans) by her side.
