Meet Deidre
Deidre is a 2.5 year old tortoiseshell little beauty! Deidre will enrich your home with her boundless energy and lots of talk! She is very vocal and loves to play, especially in the morning and just prior to bed-time. During play-time she is always ready for a good game of hide-and-seek, chase and attack the stuffed mouse, or scare those birds outside the window! She also likes to show-off and interrupt Zoom meetings! When not playing, she will look for a quiet spot for some quality napping, this might be on your lap, a convenient pillow, or under the covers on your bed! Unfortunately, Deidre is not photogenic! The photos do not do capture the beauty of her multicolor fur (and 3 cream coloured paws!) or her vibrant personality.
Deidre has tested positive for FeLV. For this reason, Deidre is looking for a very special loving home as she does have some special needs.
Feline Leukemia (FeLV) is not cancer but a lifelong virus that suppresses the immune system and can be spread between cats through casual contact (grooming, sharing water/food dishes/litter boxes). As it can result in a shorter lifespan and medical issues later in life we do not adopt out FeLV cats into homes with other cats (unless they also have FeLV).- but it does not affect other species, and cats with FeLV can cohabit with dogs, birds, lizards, children etc. FeLV cats need patient owners with big hearts who are willing to monitor their health and understand that while their time together may not be as long it will still be filled with love and very rewarding
