Rehoming Your Cat

Rehoming your cat

There is an over-population of cats in Canada and so we always recommend to try to resolve the issues related to your decision before considering rehoming your pet. If the issue is behavioural or medical please seek vet advice and do research. As SCAT’s mandate is to rescue at-risk stray cats and kittens, we unfortunately do not have the space and resources to intake owned cats. If you are unable to keep your cat try the following:

  • Ask trusted family and friends.

  • Try the following facebook page: pet rehoming

  • My Grandfather’s Cat is a registered Canadian charity that helps seniors and terminally ill people arrange homes for their pets before they move into retirement homes or pass away.

  • Call the Saskatoon SPCA 306-374-7387 to see if they are accepting owner surrenders

  • The Saskatoon SPCA has a new supported rehoming program that helps people find new homes for their pets while remaining in their home.
