Meet Zee
Zee, who her current foster mom likes to call Honey Zee, was very timid and distrustful when she first came into SCAT's care. As a retired momma cat, she was assertive and timid... growling, lunging, spit-hissing, and swatting. She was quite aggressive about food, swatting to get it ASAP. She has changed dramatically, learning to communicate with meows instead. She has also had two dentals in the last year, leaving her with only ten teeth. Her bark is much bigger than her bite these days. She loves pets, but is still sometimes nervous, so it works best to ask her if she wants pets, let her come to you, and avoid reaching towards her face. She LOVES meat tubes, Temptations and catnip! Despite her quirky traits, she is a very good companion who loves to hang out nearby her foster and sleeps on the bed every night. She will even make you biscuits and occasionally purs until she drools on you. Zee is the perfect mix of sweet with just a little bit of sass to keep you entertained.
Zee has lived with several fosters and attended Camp PetSmart and adoption events numerous times. Despite this, she is yet to have her first meet and greet. Zee needs patience as she continues to build her confidence in different surroundings and her trust in people. She would likely do best in a quieter household. She has had some exposure to the resident cats in her foster home and shows mild interest and tolerance of them. She is also good with quiet and curious dogs. Food has often been the way to this girl’s heart, which unfortunately has caught up with her. Zee is currently on a special veterinary diet to get her weight back down. She may do best on a reduced calorie diet long term as she seems to tolerate it better as well. She sheds much less!!!
