Meet Yorick

Things you should know about Yorick:
• His motto is “Stop, Flop, and Roll.” When intercepted by a cheek rub, Yorick is certain there is only one thing to do, and that is to stop everything, flop on the ground, and roll around on his back.
• He will win you over with charm, not brains. Consider this good news: if you take something away from him, it is highly unlikely that he will know where you put it. It does make him rather prone to losing his toys, so he can keep himself entertained looking for toys that are three feet to the left when he is convinced they rolled to the right.
• He is… not graceful. He has figured out how not to upend a litter box on top of his head, but that isn’t something most cats need to experience to know how to avoid, if you know what I’m saying.
• He can be bribed. From injections at the vet clinic to nail trims at home, all you need is two people: one to do whatever needs to be done and the other to supply a delicious meat tube to keep him occupied.
• He is ready to be the goofy star of your home. Have kids? Yorick will enjoy playing with them once he’s certain they won’t eat him. Have cats? Yorick hasn’t interacted with other cats in his foster home, but he has a history of getting along with other cats, and he would probably enjoy another young cat to play with. Have dogs? Yorick doesn’t have known experience with dogs, but he should do well with a slow introduction to dogs who do not have a strong prey drive and won’t chase him if he runs.

Not sure about him yet? Let me tell you more. Yorick is social and people-oriented without being clingy. He loves to play with people and on his own and is happy to entertain himself for much of the day. He is quiet and healthy, with no medical needs or special diet required. Yorick will need some time to adjust to a new household, and he would love a carrier to hide in and a small room to stay in for the first week or so. A little bit of patience is all he needs to muster up his bravery: he’ll be stopping, flopping, and rolling by your side in no time!
