Meet Pismachio

This is Mashi (full name Pismashio). He is a big tom cat with a big amount of love to give. For a cat that came from the streets and didn’t trust anyone for years, he is the biggest cuddle bug cat you’ll meet. He loves to meow and follow people around the house, and will instantly sit on your lap if you sit down. He is food motivated when needed (like for pills or trips to the vet) but also grazes his food well (so you can fill up a bowl for him if you’re away for a few days). He is very independent when needed but would like to be around you if he had an option. He integrates extremely quickly and well with other cats and people (every foster cat he’s met he instantly is okay with—he is kind of like the big brother of the house). He LOVES being pet and getting his chin scratched. He loves tummy scratches too and will jump up beside his foster mom on the couch, flip onto his side, and meow…just waiting for his pets! He does like to lay on tables unfortunately but he has never knocked anything down or made a mess. Plus he doesn’t bite or scratch, which is a great quality to have in a pet.

His adopter would need to have some patience with helping Mashi learn to like being picked up, as this is something he has not yet learned to trust people with. You will just need to be willing to wait for him to get comfortable in a new space, because when he does get comfortable, it is a beautiful thing! He would be a wonderful addition to any family.
