Meet Nessie
Hi! I’m Nessie! My foster mom says I’m just about as cute as they come. I am still a kitten, so I like to play actively during the day and then snuggle in for a nap in your lap. I’ll do this as often as you let me, especially if you have a fuzzy blanket. I have met a few other cats already and seem to get along with everyone; I’m pretty easy going. Even dogs didn’t scare me at the vet clinic, so I would probably blend in easily to a family with other pets. I would also be fine to be a single cat and have all the attention to myself.
I do have a condition that the vet calls chronic constipation, with the concern that it may become a mega-colon. It is being successfully managed right now by a special high-fibre diet and a bit of laxative added to my food; I don’t even notice it’s in there and I am a very good eater! My foster mom says I’m really not much more work than any other cat. Best of all, this condition hasn’t affected my sweet personality or quality of life. If you are willing to check my litter daily and make sure I have my special food, I would make a very loyal friend for life. I’m so worth it.
Nessie will need to continue with her high-fibre diet and laxative indefinitely to prevent constipation. She will need ample access to water and ideally be fed both wet and dry food given as smaller meals. Her new family will need to be diligent about making sure she stays out of other pets’ food bowls and is having regular, productive trips to the litter.
