Fundraising appeal for Patrick’s care

Meet Patrick!

https://www.canadahelps.org/…/scat-s…/p2p/PatrickCareAppeal/

Patrick is a 10 week old stray who was found outdoors by a member of the public on St. Patrick’s Day. The finder noticed that he was in pain and not walking properly, and rushed him to an emergency veterinary facility where he received medication to make him more comfortable and went in for x-rays. It was found that one of his legs was severely damaged, and repair was determined to be not feasible. The clinic reached out to SCAT, and he was transferred into our care. While initially Patrick underwent surgery on March 20, 2019 to amputate the damaged leg, the surgeon was able to save the leg! He will recover and be rehabilitated in one of SCAT’s incredible foster homes until he has been cleared to be listed for adoption!

The estimated cost of Patrick’s diagnostics, treatment, recovery and potential rehabilitation is estimated at $2,000. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help SCAT provide this life-saving care for Patrick and give him a second chance in life. Your generosity allows SCAT to keep saying “Yes” to the next emergency calls we’ll get.

Al Catchino Memorial Matching Campaign – 2017

Al Catchino was rescued from a SCAT colony many years ago.  He had severe scratches on his upper face and forehead, most likely from a run in with a larger animal, potentially a racoon or a coyote.  He was a bit shy with people, but very sweet and loveable when he warmed up.  He liked to chase red dots, cuddle and be brushed. Al loved to go out in the large cat run in his foster’s back year to bask in the sun, watch the birds and play chase with his best bud Rascal. He is dearly missed by his foster mom and his foster-siblings, as he enriched their lives for many years.  The poor boy was lost in the prime of life from an aggressive and untreatable oral tumor.

In his memory, his loving foster, Urve Linnamae and SCAT supporters Heather Ryan and David Dube have each generously committed up to $5,000 in matching funds for every dollar donated to the Al Catchino Memorial Matching Fund.  Every dollar donated will result in $3 generated for the emergency and long-term costs of care for cats like Al Catchino.   In a time where monthly veterinary costs can exceed $20,000, every dollar counts!
