Zephyr was our first truly feral foster cat. When she came into our lives, she was skinny, starving and terrified of people, yet was still able to care for two her two very cute kittens who were adopted quickly. On her own, Zephyr remained frightened for quite a while and would hide whenever she could and would not let us touch her. After a while, with persistent love, attention, food and treats we started to form a relationship. She would still startle very easily and run away, but she was coming out of her hiding place in the morning for breakfast with our two cats and in the evening for dinner. Gradually these visits started lasting longer and longer and then she stopped hiding. After that the breakthroughs started happening fast and furiously. One day while we were lounging on the sofa with one of our housecats, Zephyr came over, plopped down, and let us pet her and rub her belly. Fast forward a few months later and she has transformed into a vocal, happy cat who purrs all the time, loves all the household cats, and snuggles with us throughout the day and night. She is playful, social and simply sweet and would do very well in a multi-cat house. Our daughter recently adopted another cat and Zephyr accepted her within minutes. She is finally ready to find her forever home and if you are willing to be patient and provide her with the love, attention and the treats she deserves she’ll reward you with affection and companionship. If you have a lonely cat who is looking for a new friend, Zephyr is definitely your girl!
