Decaf is a lovely but shy young tabby with beautiful and unique orange markings. She was rescued off the streets as a kitten and has had difficulty adjusting to life with humans. In her foster home she is interactive: she will play with her foster parents and follow them around the home to be in the same room with them and watch their activities. She meows when bored or hungry to ask her humans to entertain or feed her. She is very shy with being handled, and will often skirt away if she thinks she will be touched. There are exceptions when she is in a good mood (or wants to be fed) and is feeling safe; then she will take pets while she purrs and kneads and bumps her head into the furniture. If you approach slowly she may let you share space beside her while she sleeps, and sometimes she will choose to sleep beside you. She seems interested in the other cat who lives in her foster home, but she is also overwhelmed by his kitten energy. Her foster parents guess she would be good with another cat(s) who has a similar energy level to hers. To live her best life, Decaf needs a quiet and patient home with people who will play with her and train her to expand her comfort zone.
