Okra

Okra

Former feral turned lap cat, Okra is a complete lovebug! He loves cuddling up to his person any time of day or night. He will jump on your lap for attention when you’re sitting at the kitchen table, when you’re working away at the computer, when you’re relaxing on the couch, basically whenever he has the opportunity to make himself comfy near you. He will curl up next to or on you at night or during naptime and it’s the cutest thing. He will even let himself be held and hugged at night! Even when you’re not sitting or laying in one place, he will rub himself against your legs, and when it’s mealtime, he will actually jump and rub against your legs out of excitement. He loves attention, especially head scritches and bum taps (light taps on his back by the base of his tail).

But before any of that, you will have to show him you are worthy of his trust. Being a reformed feral, he is very timid at first and it will take him a while to realize he is safe in a new place and that he can stop finding hiding places to watch you from. He gets startled easily by sudden movements or loud sounds, so even when he trusts you, don’t be surprised if he runs away from you sometimes! He has been in his foster home for over 6 months and he still runs and hides under the couch sometimes.

Okra is a beautiful long-haired boy with an adorable moustache patch, green eyes, and a unique meow. He keeps very clean and likes being brushed. Okra can fetch but only does it with certain toys. His favourite toys are a ball-type puzzle feeder, a squeaky mouse hanging from the top of the door, and other cats. He loves wrestling with the resident cats in his foster home and is often the one to start a match! He has lots of energy and would be happiest in a quieter home with another cat or two to tumble around with because he absolutely adores his feline friends. Because of his aversion to loud sounds and sudden movements, he likely would not do well in a home with small children.

Estimated date of birth is Aug 08, 2016
