Amelia is the sweetest cat you'll ever meet. She can be a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to people and then loves spending time with them. Whether it's curled up on your pillow, draped over your shoulder, or sitting on your lap, as long as she can have her ears scratched and her back rubbed, she's a happy kitty. She's very curious and loves exploring open cupboards and closets, as well as playing in laundry baskets! She also enjoys being up high, whether it's on top of her cat tree or on top of the cupboards. She has a lot of energy but expresses it positively through running around and playing with her toys. Amelia loves people and would be very happy in a home where people are around a lot of the time (stay at home parent, retiree, etc.), but is also fine if she's left alone during the day, as long as she gets her attention when you get home! She prefers to be the queen of her own castle and has a strong dislike for dogs and other cats. She is okay with young children (though a bit shy if they move quickly or make loud noises) and is completely fine with older children. Amelia will make an excellent companion for someone looking for extra joy in their life! Estimated date of birth is November 11, 2013.

Batman really is a good kitty. He is very opinionated and quirky, he loves attention and will come running when you call his name. He is very affectionate and is a total lap cat. He is good with other cats but takes time to adjust to change. He is good with kids and visitors. He is a great boy with lots of personality but he has issues that he will probably have for the rest of his life and needs a family that understands that. Batman is quite a special kitty. He was hit by a car and sustained serious injuries. He suffered a broken pelvis and required his tail be amputated. These injuries have left him with some permanent nerve damage that affects his digestive tract and still causes him pain. He has mild megacolon that requires him to be on an inexpensive medication, lactulose, that is given with meals twice daily. He also needs to be on an easily digestible food that is readily available to him, a few veterinary diets have worked very well for him. He also has some lasting chronic pain which is treated with a pain medication given 3 times a day. Also due to the lasting affects of his injuries, he is sensitive about his hind end and stomach, so unfortunately no bum pats for him but he loves head pats and neck rubs. Bruce has had a few urinary tract infections since being with SCAT but has not been positive for any in the last year, we still check his urine at his annual check up and watch for signs that he could have one. Because of nerve damage, defecating can be painful for him at times so he does like to have a few options for litter boxes, he is also pee pad trained but he still likes to try and wait until his fosters get home to have his pee. Always having fresh water or a water fountain has encouraged him to drink more and to pee more consistently. Bruce really is a very affectionate, loving character that just wants a home of his own. He will shower his family in kitty love and be a great feline companion. We think he would adjust fine to calm dogs. If you think you might be the one to give this handsome boy the attention and love he deserves, contact us for more information. Estimated date of birth is October 11, 2008

Have you ever wished for a cat that would forever remain a cute and playful kitten? If so, Beautiful is your girl! This young cat is approximately 2 years old, but from her petite size, cute meow, and playful nature, you would think she was much younger. Beautiful had a rough start to life and was found wandering the streets in Saskatoon, so she takes a little while to warm up to you, but once she does she loves nothing more than being petted and scratched. She also enjoys her toys (especially her laser pointer), catnip, being brushed and chatting to you. She is very tidy with her food, and is completely litterbox trained. Beautiful is more comfortable with women than with men, but will quickly warm up to whoever has the catnip! Although she loves pets and snuggles, Beautiful doesn’t love being picked up. With some gentle practice and lots of positive reinforcement, she will likely overcome her discomfort. Beautiful likely would do well as the only cat in your home, as she is easily bullied by other cats, due to her small size, but could likely grow to be friends with another mild-mannered cat. This sweet kitty would probably prefer a home with only adults, or older children, as she is still working to overcome her fear of loud noises or quick movement. Even though she can sometimes get spooked, she is always looking to spend time with her people and would love a forever home that has a warm spot waiting for her at the foot of the bed. It seems like Becca will always be shy with people until she gets to know them. She will hide around the corner when people come over. Her foster mom believes she will do well with one or two quiet people. You will have to try her and trust that she will come to you.She will need someone who has the time, the love, and the patience, and she will come around. She is fine with other cats and the dog, but, will cry if the young cats come near, as they have teased her and she doesn't want to have them near anymore. She loves to be petted and brushed and she does need her beautiful long hair brushed regularly. Estimated date of birth of Becca is July 7, 2007.

Big Cindee- who is not so big so we call her “Little Big Cindee”- is a lovely independent teenaged kitten that lures you in with her sweet face and tiny meows. She is sleek and adorable, everyone who visits the Centre comments on how cute she is. She enjoys being around people and she will come and rub against you and give you tiny licks, asking for pets- but you need to watch as she is often a “three pat cat”. Sometimes she engages in longer petting sessions when she is feeling particularly lovely but in general three pat cats are ones that can be over stimulated by lots of petting. When over stimulated Big Cindee will give bites or scratches- she doesn’t intend to hurt you but you can almost see the energy build in her when you pet her and she can’t help herself- so a home that can read her body language and be aware and comfortable with her quirks is a must! She likes to be around people and is fine socializing with other cats, she is confident and either pays other cats little attention or she will engage in play with some but hasn’t taken to cuddling/grooming the others here at the Centre. Big Cindee has not been exposed to dogs but so long as they give her space we think she would be fine. Big Cindee would do best in a home that has very little piled/exposed fabric (blankets, cat beds) and where things are busy. She has a history of inappropriate urination (one spare beds, or in a pile of cats beds) that is being managed with medication and being in a busier environment (the Centre) but she may be tempted if the right spot presents again like she was when we had a pile of cat beds- once those beds were gone we have not had any other issues. Big Cindee is definitely looking for a unique home but we know that the right home is out there- if you think you might be her forever family please apply today- or come meet her at the SCAT Centre Tues-Sat 11-4pm! Big Cindee's estimated date of birth is April 7, 2018.

Brees Bees was a found Dad cat. Of all the family rescued, he had never been seen before and was the most beat up. In fact he is FIV positive so is immune compromised and requires very regular vet check-ups. He recently underwent dental surgery as well as his neuter and came through it all with flying colours. Brees is very discreet and sensibly cautious, given his past, but he is also very laid-back and accepting of the good life. This life includes abundant food, warm assorted perches and no hassles. Litter box is conscientiously used and no special conditions apply. He will hide on first meeting, but after a couple of days recognizes the provider of condition one of the good life (food, lots of it). Such providers, he likes to rub his head against and accept a large number of pets and scritches from. He can be tempted to bat at a wand or dangly toy, but otherwise does not yet get the idea of playing. He is likely about three years old. Maybe from memories of life on the street, he occasionally sings the song of the people. Or it may be especially triggered by smelling a cat food can open upstairs. Just once in a while, you can feel him vibrate with a silent purr. So far, it seems Brees would definitely do well with those who enjoy the quiet life. When a resident cat come down to ogle at him from afar and growl (through his lattice door), Brees is completely unreactive. He has his room and he just doesn't care. For now at least.

Bridget came into foster care as a petrified cat, but slowly came out of her shell and turned out to be a love bug. When she wants attention she will follow and brush against your legs, or hop on your lap and chest to block what you’re doing so you pet her. She will tolerate being picked up, but not for very long. She decides very suddenly when she doesn’t want to be touched anymore and will let you know by swatting and biting, but she is slowly learning to not use her claws as much. No matter how much she’s had to eat she always wants more so she needs someone who will schedule feeding for her as she is already overweight. She’s still scared of loud or unfamiliar noises and hides whenever there’s the sound of someone at the front door; even the cat tree when it first arrived was terrifying. She would likely not do well in a loud home, with children, or other animals. Estimated date of birth is September 6, 2014.

My name is Chrissy. I am elegant, playful, and love to snuggle in beside and be petted. If you will play with me I will be very happy.  I can be quite vocal when asking for treats or pets. I love scratches at the base of my tail and I purr and flop around while getting attention.  I especially love a moving target that I can pounce on. I love to climb the cat tree and watch out the windows. I too have my preferences for when humans play, cuddle, and let me be by myself. I LOVE temptations treats and picking the stones out of the water dish. I get along well with my siblings and can't wait to play with the dog I touch noses with through the gate. Chrissy is in a foster home with her sister Cienna.  They get along well and could be adopted together if you are looking for a pair. Estimated date of birth of Chrissy is August 9, 2015.

Cienna is a fun and friendly cat who needs a forever family with the patience to earn her trust and get her out of her shell. She is very shy at first, taking to hiding under beds and couches, but she still enjoys company while hiding and is happy to have someone scratch her ears while safely tucked away. Once she gets more comfortable, she’s happy to wander around and explore. She’s very curious and likes to investigate everything she sees or smells! She can be chatty while she’s exploring, meowing at anyone who will listen, but she hasn’t ever meowed while her fosters are sleeping, meaning everyone gets a good night’s sleep even while she’s exploring and playing. Cienna is more active in the night, especially from 8pm to 8am, but she’s starting to realize it’s safe to come out during the day too, and has even taken to sleeping on top of beds instead of under them. She’s always happy to have her ears and back scratched, and even likes belly rubs! She is very gentle but skittish, and runs away from loud noises, sudden movements, and strangers, though she’s getting more confident with every day! Cienna would do well in a quieter house with no small children. She could probably get used to having other pets around (especially other cats, dogs may be very scary to her) if you were willing and able to introduce her slowly and let her learn she’s safe around them. Cienna is in a foster home with her sister Chrissy.  They get along well and could be adopted together if you are looking for a pair. Estimated date of birth of Cienna is August 9, 2015.

Dina was abandoned with her two kittens after her owners moved away and left them in the yard. She had a collar embedded in her skin when she came to SCAT and luckily we had a foster home come available and were able to bring them into our program. Dina clearly had a rough go and can take a while to warm up to people, and can be nervous as she isn't sure if the person is going to respect her boundaries or hurt her. Right now Dina will sit with people she trusts and enjoy pets on her head but she isn't comfortable with people touching around her body or tummy. We aren’t sure what happened in her past but she seems to be more distrustful of men than women so she may be slower to warm up to men than women but should she be given time to build trust she should fit into a quiet home with men or women. Her favourite activity is to sit by the window on "neighbourhood watch" and check out who is out and about in the neighbourhood that day! We know Dina needs a special home but we also know that home is out there-if your home is quiet and you are finding you have space in your home and heart for a quirky girl who was dealt a rough hand in life apply to meet Dina today!

Eclair is super sweet and friendly. She loves any and all attention that you are willing to give her and will beg for more if you stop. She enjoys meeting new people and convincing them to pet her. She has liked every dog she has been introduced her to; however, she was a little more cautious if the dog was very energetic and jumpy. She doesn't love to be picked up, but tolerates it with minimal fuss. She is an extremely tolerant cat and has never scratched or bit no matter what she has been subjected to at the vet. She likes to nap on either your lap or your feet and will sleep on the bed with you at night. However, she has to be shut in the room with you as she tends to wander and cry for attention if you let her roam at night! She mostly sleeps through the night, though she really likes routine so if you are on a changing schedule it can mess her up a little and she ends up throwing small hissy fits by the door in the morning. She loves to play with soft toys on strings and will carry them around the house proudly (and loudly) telling you how she caught them. She also enjoys chasing hairs on the floor and watching birds out the window. She also must follow you wherever you go so that you don't disappear on her so if you adopt her you will have a new shadow! Estimated date of birth is December 10, 2013

Evelyn was taken into SCATs program in February of 2017 as a heavily pregnant stray- all her babies have been adopted and we want to find a special home for her as well!  In the months we have known her we have found that she is tiny but fierce- sometimes she becomes quite anxious or overstimulated (I am sure many people can relate!) and on occasion this leads to her biting quite hard when people don’t read her signs, which can be subtle but  her foster can talk to you about them. She needs to be in a home where all the members can read cat body language to notice when she is getting spicy and let her have time to decompress, so a home with kids is not recommended. Aside from the occasional periods of overstimulation she is a lovely chatty lady who loves pets and people, and can have bouts of playfulness. She is currently living with other cats but picks on the more submissive one when she gets the jump on her so if she was to go into a home with other pets they would need to know how to stand up for themselves or enjoy the occasional chase. Evelyn is listed as special needs as she is on an anxiety medication to help her relax and be less spicy and it helps her quite a bit. They are relatively inexpensive and should not be a deterrent to  adopting for the majority of adopters! Estimated date of birth of Evelyn is January 25, 2015.

Fareway Willy is looking for a very special, loving home as he does have some special needs. Fareway Willie has Feline Leukemia (FeLV) which is not cancer but a lifelong virus that supresses the immune system and can be spread between cats through casual contact (grooming, sharing water/food dishes/litter boxes). As it can result in a shorter lifespan and medical issues later in life we do not adopt out FeLV cats into homes with other cats- but it does not affect other species, and cats with FeLV can cohabit with dogs, birds, lizards, children etc.  FeLV cats need patient owners with big hearts who are willing to monitor their health and understand that while their time together may not be as long it will still be filled with love and very rewarding. First seen on Friday, she was rescued on a December Sunday when the temperature was - you guessed it, Saskatoon, - -30 something degrees. Alas, she was huddled into a frozen, icy mass. Her ears have frozen and fallen off and the tip of her tail had to be amputated. She has obviously had a very traumatic past and is timid. Friday now has her own warm room with lots of toys and foster Auntie is working patiently with her and longing for the day, which is not yet, when she can just scoop Friday up for big hugs and kisses. Friday loves playing with toys and thinks that the soft toys need to be washed - these are often found floating and soaking in the water dish. Friday has now met the other foster kitties in the home and, although she seems to want to be friends with everyone, the truth is that she prefers the boys. A very petite adult cat, surprisingly, Friday is turning into a tomboy who especially loves to corner and wrestle with a retired tomcat three times her size. Friday and her human Auntie have "meowy" conversations - Friday likes to converse. However, she is still fearful of being picked up. For now she only lets Auntie pet her and scratch under her chin while she is sitting securely in the corner of her window sill. (Tear stains mark her face and these will wash off. Unfortunately, when we had the camera she was not in the mood for a facewash.) Estimated date of birth of Friday is July 1, 2008.

Geordi didn’t have much human contact early on so it takes him longer to trust humans and his surroundings. If there is a place to hide from people he doesn't know, he will find it and you won't find him until they're gone. He’s a very sweet boy who loves affection on his terms. When his foster guardian settles in front on the couch or in bed he follows shortly, where he demands bellyrubs and chin scratches. If you are late at all with his breakfast or supper he is very vocal and lets you know, otherwise he is quiet and fairly timid, but still coming out of his shell. His favourite toys are those that can be chased, whether it’s feathers, string, or a laser pointer. He also loves to chew cardboard that's been set up near the cat trees, but otherwise leaves boxes alone. He will tolerate being picked up for a time but “armadillos” as it’s not comfortable for him. He has never shown any aggression while he has been in his current foster home, but trimming his nails is a feat as he is a master at squirming away. Other cats are likely not an issue for him as he tries to affectionately bump against the other moody foster cat in the home, much to her displeasure. Estimated date of birth is July 27, 2016

Hi, my name is Hawley! Or at least that's what the hoomuns here call me. Secretly though, my name is Anastasia. I'm the long lost daughter of the last Russian Czar. I like to keep hidden when people come so that they don't know I am here. But for my resident hoomun, I have much affection for because she keeps my secret well...and she knows the best spots for scrunching. Ahhh, yes. I do love to run around and play on my own, most of the time at night so that people don't see my silly side. After all, a princess has an image to maintain. I love watching the world through the front window especially the birds at the feeder and any cats roaming by. I need to make sure they don't invade my territory. In the summer, I love spending time out in the front screened in porch. I often even sleep out there. In the winter I have a wonderful heated bed placed by the front window. It's perfect for my neighbourhood watch. Sometimes I spend time sitting by the resident hoomun and sometimes she brings out the special brush which I really really like. I like treats too, but, not always. I do have to watch my girlish figure after all. Dasvidania ESTIMATED DATE OF BIRTH: 26 May 2007

Hilda is a total people cat. She does not like to be away from people in her room. She loves to be carried around, held, and snuggled, and purrs constantly. We think she would do well with people of all ages. She has had constant contact with a 10 year old in her foster home, and tolerated her cone, clothing, nail trims, gel nails, and a bath! She will a great companion cat for one lucky person/family! Unfortunately at this time she does not tolerate other cats. Estimated date of birth is January 13, 2016.

Hollandaise did a great job taking care of her kittens out on the streets until they were 6 weeks old and SCAT volunteers were able to get them into foster care. Now that her babies are grown up, we are starting to get to know her. She is starting to play, and so far loves wand toys and catnip toys. She loves attention and likes to be pet, expecially chin and ear rubs.  She is still protective so hasn't been out with the resident cats in her foster home yet but we think she will be fine with other cats after an adjustment period.  Estimated date of birth is March 26, 2018.

Kewpie Doll is a chatty girl with a sweet and tolerant personality. Some of her favourite things to do in the house are playing with the wand toy while hidden under the couch, chilling in front of an open window, rolling around in human laps while being pet, and sprawling right in the middle of the hallway. Weirdly, she also enjoys grooming her fuzzy wand toy after bunny kicking it a bit. She loves being brushed and combed to keep her gorgeous mane tangle-free. When she is sitting in a lap or being pet, she purrs generously and gazes up lovingly at you. Your days will never be quiet when you have Kewpie Doll around to chirp about and tell you about her day. As soon as you open the fridge, she is there beside you asking if it's time for her to eat. She tolerates getting her nails trimmed very well without being purrito-ed and is slowly becoming more comfortable with being picked up. While she has gained tremendous confidence over the last few months, she still retains some timidness and will do best in a more quiet household. She is a delight with guests and will rub herself on them to solicit pets after she spends a few moments to assess if they are chill.

He is practically perfect in every way.  He just needs awesome owners now!   Kimo is on a urinary + clam diet and does need a higher sided litterbox (he doesn’t always remember to squat low but he’s a big boy and he’s doing his best!). Lana is mostly a grey tabby with the occasional ginger couloured highlight. Still a bit timid but very curious, Lana likes pats, especially when in the course of eating her dinner which she likes served on a high perch away from her busybody siblings. She is intrigued by people and loves to watch them from a certain distance. Her hobbies include rolling in sun beams, gazing out windows, pacing while waiting for the slow human to feed them, and purring while curling up in comfy cat beds. She is the sister of Li'l Kim. Lana and Li'l Kim have made a lot of progress and in a regular home environment may make the final steps to perfect companions.  Both like to cuddle on laps but will startle easily and not comfortable with being picked up yet.  They are gentle ones who have never bit or scratched.  Also have very good litter box manners. Please note that Li'l Kim and Lana were exposed to the Feline Leukemia virus at a young age. Advanced testing shows that they are not able to infect any other cats and as such are able to cohabit with other cats- but there is a small possibility that they may develop diseases related to the disease later in life. However there is a chance that any cat you adopt would develop diseases later in life so shouldn’t be a deterrent to adopting these wonderful girls! Estimated date of birth of Lana is August 8, 2013.

Lolita is currently healthy and happy but is FeLV+. She is a big lap cuddler and will sit in a lap for a long time. Her tail is thick and fluffy but she does not like to have it brushed, nor her back end, and she is sensitive about having her paws touched. Otherwise she is gentle, purrs quietly and gazes up while sitting in a lap. Lolita is a spunky and spirited kitty who would love to explore and run. Lolita loves her iPad games and takes it over from her foster mom all the time, she even got to play the game on the big TV once and found that to be quite fun! She still runs and hides when there's new people/strange sounds but is very loving with people she is comfortable with! She tests positive for feline leukemia (FeLV) so must go to a home with no other cats but would love some people and a dog could be tried. Estimated date of birth of Lolita is October 30, 2014. This is what Munchkin's foster had to say about him: "Munchkin was in boarding when I became a foster. My heart broke when I had learned he had been there for a few months and that his previous adopters returned him. Upon meeting Munchkin I learned he is a large and heavy tabby boy with a heart as big as his stomach. Munchkin took a few days to adjust to being back in a home environment and also being around two other kittens who were very curious about him and full of energy. Munchkin warmed up to his foster brothers, Atticus and Theodore right away. Munchkin loves to play with his foster brothers and often partakes in the battle for who gets to sit on the top perch of the cat tree. Munchkin shows his love in his own way, he is not overly cuddly but he loves head and chin scratchies. He always gives good night kisses and stays at your feet while you sleep. Munchkin has been trained to lay on his blanket and he tends to do this very well as he enjoys his soft blanket. He rarely climbs onto your lap and prefers just to be near you, within petting reach of course. Munchkin is a very calm and relaxed cat but he can be very vocal, especially in the morning when he wants to be fed, he knows his feeding routine and will let you know if you’re taking too long to fill his dish! Munchkin also enjoys belly rubs and catnip bubbles. While he is thriving in his home environment with his foster brothers, sometimes they drive him a bit crazy with their never ending energy! Munchkin is a great companion and since he gets along with other cats (with some time), he would do well in either a single or multi-cat home. He seems to be good around children (however he hasn’t been around any children under the age of 8). Munchkin’s easy going personality and calm demeanour makes him a great addition to any household, however I think he would do very well in a quiet environment as the only cat, and perhaps with someone older who is looking for a companion. Munchkin is the biggest sweetheart and while he loves his foster mom and brothers, he would love to find his forever home! He is great at keeping your feet warm at the end of your bed on those cold winter nights. He’s basically a small furnace. Estimated date of birth is February 9, 2012.

Here is what Natasha's foster mom has to say about her: Natasha loves humans. She spends her time in her own room in her basement and I spend quality time with her. She loves to lie with me on a lounge I have down there and she will stay so for as long as I can stay. Natasha loves her food so needs monitoring with food. She likes toys, especially laser toys and a ring with ball and cardboard scratcher inside. She really loves catnip and swoons with it. Natasha does not like to be brushed/combed nor to have her claws trimmed. I think this comes from some early trauma. She likes petting on her head, under her chin, around her ears and cheeks and around her neck, but not so much further on her body. Natasha is a quiet kitty and really does not demand much. Since Natasha has lived in her own room and spends a lot of time on her own, I think she would do nicely with someone who works long hours and wants a loving kitty when they come home. She would really like a whole house to run about in and explore. Natasha is a loving kitty but she fears other cats immensely. She hisses, growls and tries to hide or cringes in a corner. Of course this right away sets off other cats and no good happens. When Natasha gets alarmed in this way or any other, she does become defensive so anyone with her needs to know this. Estimated date of birth of Natasha is April 22, 2010.

Nika was born outdoors along with her siblings.  Humans are still relatively new to her and she is still initially fearful of people. But she is very playful and will play with foster parents, as long as the toy allows her space to escape if frightened. Right now she is unable to be handled or held without a towel, but she will take food from her fosters’ hands if it is the right treat. She is getting more comfortable staying out when food is being brought to her, and eating when her foster parents are still in the room. She loves playing with other cats, so would do well in a home with another kitten or a young playful cat. She will require a family that has the time and patience to work on her trust, and if children are in the home they should be older, cat savvy, patient, and knowledgeable about respecting her boundaries while she becomes comfortable in her new home. Estimated date of birth is November 21, 2018.

Before being trapped on a dark January night, Niles Wildwood seems to have lived his almost three years of life underneath mobile homes. He has been very slow to adopt the upper perches in his room, in fact, it took him months even to sit up on a chair. What he loves is food, lying around, playing with wands with people on the other end, his giant rat and generally the presence and companionship of sympathetic people. It has taken him months not to hide from such people (the only kind we allow him to meet)! He is not great with "picky-ups" partly because we find him awkward to pick up. He is a substantial boy with a cobby build, and just possibly one rear leg that doesn't bend quite like legs generally do. He lives in a home with several resident cats, and although he shows no aggression when one of them approaches his door, it is the case that two of them are jerks; and so at present he simply does not venture out of his room. Niles Wildwood is the magazine pin-up of a large male tabby cat complete with fat cheeks. He is becoming a super-love as his confidence and sense of adventure develop. Nocturne (a.k.a. Nocturnals / Nocturnal Animal / Panther Lady) is very curious and talkative. She starts slow-blinking and letting out very delicate meows when she wants attention. She shows her human companion affection by pressing her paws into your stomach (making biscuits). She loves walking around and showing affection to other cats by rubbing up against them. Sometimes she'll snuggle up against them and use their hips as pillows. She's currently working on two-hand touching and getting picked up. Right now she's still working on transitioning from being an outdoor feral kitten to a trusting indoor lady, so she prefers to have all four feet on the ground when interacting with humans. She has a huge appetite for food and play. She enjoys catnip stuffed toys the most. Small, foam soccer balls are a close second. She also enjoys standing on and using cardboard scratchers. But mainly she loves other cats and chasing or getting chased by them. Nocturne loves darting around the house, especially up into high places like tall cat trees. Vertical space is very important to her. Nocturne's personality will continue to flourish over time around calm people and cats that are gentle and don't force the issue with unwanted touch. She'd be a lovely addition to any home or family that takes the time to earn her trust. Nocturne loves to play with her sister Nymphadora and, though not required, these girls would love to be adopted together. Estimated date of birth is August 1, 2018.

Nymphy is extremely easygoing with other cats. She's come a long, long way from being a shy girl who grew up outside on the street, but might be shy at first during any transition. Having patience will her is very rewarding and she'll pay you back in spades by being a sweet, gentle companion. She loves nothing more than playing and roaming around the house with her sister, Nocturne. They often chase each other and show interest in the same toys and foods. I share my meals with my foster brothers and we hardly ever bicker. Although I don’t like new places it doesn’t take long to adjust and once I do will be you constant companion until its time to feed me then I'll be busy but only momentarily! I love belly rubs and chin scratches from humans I know but it does take me a little time to warm up and adjust to new humans touching me, but I know they wont hurt me so I just stay still, don’t worry, I don’t bite or scratch! Can you imagine all the fun we can have together? It would be so awesome! Rapunzel is a 3 year old beauty who came to SCAT thanks to some good Samaritans who were making sure she was fed every day and noticed that she was heavily pregnant. Though she was terrified of "life on the inside" at first, she didn't get much time to think about it once her 5 babies arrived. Slowly she has warmed up to her new life & is learning to trust humans. Now that her babies are all in their forever homes, she has continued to progress in her socialization, allowing head to tail pets and purring up a storm, and she is ready to find her people. She is still timid, especially around new people and situations, so would likely be best suited to a quiet home. It does take a bit of patience to earn her trust, but once you do, she is the sweetest girl. She is food motivated, so treats are a great tool in helping her trust and socialize, but on the same note, she will need someone who will keep an eye on her weight. She is doing well with the other cats in the foster home. She loves meal time and will push the other cats away so she can be first.in a home that is very patient with her. Estimated date of birth of Razzle is April 5, 2008.

Relish is one of our former moms who's babies have all been adopted and now we're hoping it's her turn! Relish is more of an independent girl but once she warms up to you she’s down for a snuggle session. She seems to take a little longer to warm up to women, but she gets there! Her foster mom nicknamed her “chirpy bird” because she has a chirpy mew and loves to chat. She prefers not to be picked up, mostly just enjoys stroking. She’d be a wonderful companion for someone who works all day and wants to come home and be greeted with her adorable mew but then mostly just hang out! Or maybe an office cat since her activity level is moderate and independence is high! Would probably not recommend her around young kids because of not liking to be picked up. Ricky is a sweet and lovable cat with beautiful colours and gorgeous green eyes. This little fella likes to be close to his fosters when he can; however, Ricky is not a lap cat and much prefers to sit close by or be held and rocked in his foster's arms. He is very chatty and will let you know what he thinks daily, often with requests to be let outdoors. In a previous life he was an indoor/outdoor cat so would do best in a home with a catio/outdoor options to fully enjoy the fresh air. At 1-1.5 years old Ricky is playful and would best enjoy a home with another cat who is equally energetic and rough and tumble like himself. Ricky had absolutely no problem meeting his foster brothers, and was extremely docile and wanting to play immediately. As a reformed Tom Cat, Ricky was not equally as docile with his foster sister and often aggressively stalked her, and would likely best be suited to a home with male playmates. Any adopter would be lucky to have this lovely guy as an addition to their cat family, and would no doubt find endless entertainment watching Ricky and a playmate wresting around. Estimated date of birth is May 25, 2018.

Roxy is approximately 2 years old and she is very friendly with people, kids, and dogs. She’s young enough that she still likes to chase toys on strings and to bunny kick her toys and tennis ball.  But she’s also content enough to sleep for hours, especially in front of the fireplace.  Though she isn’t a lap cat she likes to be petted for short periods of time (she’ll let you know when she’s had enough) and to stay in the same room as her people.  If your hands are too close to her face or paws when she’s excited during playtime she sometimes swats, but once you learn to read her cues you won’t get scratched any more. Roxy is a champion litter box user too. Roxy is aggressive toward the other cat in her foster home and we think she’d be best in a single cat household. Estimated date of birth is August 8, 2016.

Tobie enjoys small toys that she can bat around. She particularly likes feathered or small stuffed toys on a string manipulated by a person. She often tries to entice her foster dad into playing with her by sitting expectantly at the bottom of the shelf where the stringed toys are stashed.    Tobie appears to possess above average intelligence and is a keen observer of human activity. Tobie spends a lot of time in a fenced backyard exploring and chasing bugs. Estimated date of birth is January 22, 2018.

Hi everyone! My name is Tricket and I can’t wait for my 6th birthday to come around this summer. I’m a grey medium-long haired cat. I came from a farm in Nipawin, so I’m likely a mix breed, and very cute. I really enjoy people but I’m very shy and unsure of anybody new. I’m curious and definitely like to sniff around  and rub up against people I don’t know, but that doesn’t mean that I’m ready to get pet right away, especially not body rubs. I like to sniff a hand just to check people out. That’s always a good place to start. I like to say the way to my heart is to feed me regularly and give me a bit of space and I’ll show you my belly as soon as I’m comfortable with you. I like my food to be weighed (17g) and I really prefer to be fed twice a day. I love my food so much it’s hard to control myself.  If I get it all at once I end up getting a sore tummy and end up getting sick for a little while. I love snacks, but only occasionally since I’m trying to keep a nice slim figure. I really enjoy being combed and brushed but I’m terrified at the sight of and sound water, unless it’s in my water dish, then I play with it a bit, but hey, what cat doesn’t? I’m litter box trained, I like to lay nice and still when I get my claws clipped, and I love to use my scratching post. I don’t meow too much, unless I see something I like. I sleep for most of the night, and like to wake up early and meow for food when I’m hungry,  just enough to let you know I’m up and at ‘em! I’ve never been in a house with other animals other than other kittens when I was just a baby in a foster home. I can’t promise I’ll like them right away, but give me some time and I’ll get used to it. Lasers, rays of light, shiny spots, balls of tin foil, anything crinkly that makes a sound, anything that rolls on the floor, I love it all. What I would love the most is if a really nice someone would adopt me and love me as much as my current owner. She works out of town so she isn’t around as much as I would like.   Estimated date of birth is July 15, 2013.

He would do well with an owner who has loves to play and also to laugh! Udo does need daily medication and for now would do best with no other cats. Vanilla Sky is an energetic, petite, and vocal beauty. Just looking at her will often cause her to start purring away, and when she purrs, she purrs loudly. She absolutely loves attention and will rub herself against you, demanding head pats and chin scratches. Once the loving starts, you bet she'll flop on down and expose her soft belly for those glorious tummy rubs. Even though Vanilla Sky loves being the center of your attention, she isn't a huge snuggler, preferring to go go go once she has had her fill of pets. She knows she's a little princess so all pets better be on her terms and she will definitely let you know when the petting sessions are over. While she loves playing and wrestling with (and bossing around) the other cats in her foster home, she is also content playing with toys by herself or going off on her own to explore. She is very energetic and makes tons of little chirpy noises. Her favourite low-energy activity is bird-watching. Catnip and wand toys are her favourite. She is learning to wear a harness in case her forever home would like to take her outside to explore. She would do well in a home with other cats with whom she can play to burn off her energy, but would be happy being an only cat with lots of playtime as well. She is still unsure about the resident dog but she is expected to get along well with dogs eventually. She would do well in a home with cat-savvy children. She did have a run in with lilies when she was young but her most current blood tests show that her kidneys are functioning normally and she has had no lasting damage. Estimated date of birth is August 27, 2017

Veli and Vulcun are two kittens that were trapped on the streets as older kittens- because they were socialized with humans later in life and spent their first few months surviving by running and hiding from us scary “predators” they need to make absolutely sure that you are predator to be trusted. To make sure you can be trusted they will hide and watch you from a safe place- for weeks just in case you are trying to trick them - so any adopter would need to know that it would take a while to settle into a new home but if you’re patient they are such a sweet little duo! Their current foster home notes that they love to chase things – and they aren’t picky, Christmas wrapping ribbon on a string, twist ties on the hard wood floor, and kibbles. Sometimes I think they chase the kibbles I throw just because it's fun and not because they're hungry - the longer the run the more fun it seems. Veli is the more demanding of the two and once he trusts you he thinks your first priority upon waking up should be showering him with the love he deserves – and if you are ignoring him he has the cutest little squeaky meow to let you know that he is in fact available for pets! Vulcun very much wants pets but when you first reach for him he gets nervous and may walk away but as soon as you start petting him he melts into it and will flop down – he is a big fan of a two handed shoulder rub. He is a gorgeous medium haired boy who is reminiscent of a lion (except when the dry winter air gives him a lot of static!) These boys love each other and while Veli can be a bit of a bossy older brother they often play and groom with one another- they would very much like to find their forever home together but would be OK on their own too.

Vodka Cran – looking for a stable home with a lap to sit on and few car rides to go on (she’ll tolerate the vet once a year but she’s going to talk to you the whole way there!). Vodka Cran is an amazing girl who just wants to love her people. She has cohabited with other cats and will even play with other cats when the mood strikes. If you are looking for a low maintenance cat to enjoy your company for a couple years, we have the cat for you! Yarn is a spayed female grey and white tabby cat found on the streets of Saskatoon. She is house trained and declawed so she does not make a mess other than when she sheds, but she loves to be brushed. She sprawls out flat like a pancake when being petted and she loves it! Though she is not a lap cat she sits close in order to collect pets. She likes to be where her people are, and is fine with kids. Yarn does not like dogs, but we are unaware of how she feels about other cats. Yarn is a small cat with a lot of attitude. She is very vocal and has a little bit of an "old lady" meow, making sure to let you know if she hasn't been fed yet or if she hasn't seen you in a long time! She is active, loves lasers and balls or other things to chase. She recently had dental surgery to remove decaying teeth so she has only 1 canine left, which sticks out of her mouth a little bit. She does not let that stop her from eating though. She has no medical problems or medications and is ready to go to a new home with lots of love for the rest of her years. Yarn's estimated date of birth is September 12, 2005.

Yasmin is a sweet little girl who seems to still be adjusting to life indoors. While random things may startle her (hair dryer, register vents, remote controls), she is getting used to the good life. She loves to chat and be heard, but that could be her trying to convince her babies to wake up and play. Yasmin hasn't quite figured out that laps are good for snuggles, but she loves being petted and you will have no problems picking her up to hold her. Quite by accident, we discovered feather toys are her absolute FAVORITE, maybe it reminds her of chasing birds outside?? Estimated date of birth is May 1, 2018.

Meet the very gorgeous Yorcat, he was found out of town in the middle of no where, he had been abandoned in a cat carrier and how long he had been there we don’t know, he some how escaped and was found close by terrified and very timid. He is a little skittish and definitely has an aversion to pet carrier and cages. However in a home environment he is a well behaved, playful and very friendly little guy. He is available for adoption and would make a very good buddy to pretty much any household, he gets on very well with the other cats in his foster home and loves their company. I'm Zoodles! I'm an adorable, high energy teenage kitten with an amazing tail floof. I love, love, love my brofur (who is also felv positive). I am getting used to dog visitors and so far so good. I am not reactive, just cautious. I have some weird quirks such as licking your head to ask for food in the morning, sitting on the tub (between the shower curtains) to wait for food, and using my paws to reach for food while you are scooping it for me. Basically, I love food. I am a bit of a beggar and enjoy all human food, but I am working on my manners. Another thing I love is wands! Feather wands, string on wands, broken piece hanging off a wand. Basically All.The.Wands. My ideal home would have spider plants or cat grass for me to gnaw on and maybe also a felv cat friend, though not necessary, but I do enjoy playing and require stimulation. There is still quite a bit of kitten in me and I like to remain busy. I enjoy cuddling once I am eventually tired and like to sleep under the covers by your feet or on your chest while watching tv. I am good at only using my scratching post and I keep a clean litter box. I know my name well and come when called, although that's hardly necessary to do because I will follow you wherever you go because I have FOMO (fear of missing out). Apply to meet me today and I'll show you my squeaky purr and feather duster tail. Zoodles is looking for a very special, loving home as she does have some special needs. Zoodles has Feline Leukemia (FeLV) which is not cancer but a lifelong virus that suppresses the immune system and can be spread between cats through casual contact (grooming, sharing water/food dishes/litter boxes). As it can result in a shorter lifespan and medical issues later in life we do not adopt out FeLV cats into homes with other cats (unless they also have FeLV)- but it does not affect other species, and cats with FeLV can cohabit with dogs, birds, lizards, children etc. FeLV cats need patient owners with big hearts who are willing to monitor their health and understand that while their time together may not be as long it will still be filled with love and very rewarding. Estimated date of birth September 7, 2018.
